My Tattoo Practice
Caitlin has been drawing her entire life. Her distinct tattoo style falls into the category of fine line and delicate illustrative work. She works primarily in black and gray and loves creating pieces that feel harmonious and beautiful with the body. Plants and animals are her go to, but she also enjoys ornamental designs and objects. Caitlin offers a unique custom art experience in which she creates full drawings ahead of time, can transpose drawings on photos of the clients bodies, and allows space for edits. My style is black and grey and highly illustrative. I enjoy doing plants and animals and adding in special details and texture.
Caitlin is a queer, gender non-conforming artist, witch, and community organizer/social worker living on stolen land of the Methow people (also called the Methow Valley). She lives with her partner and two cats in close relationship with the Twisp River and the bio-region of the North Cascades and shrubsteppe.
One of the most influential books in Caitlin’s childhood was Miss Rumphius a children's picture book about a woman who sought a way to make the world more beautiful and found it in planting lupines in the wild. The simple phrase “making the world more beautiful” has been an essential ethos for how Caitlin moves in work and life. After 20 years of youth and young adult centered community social work Caitlin transitioned to being a full time tattoo artist and illustrator. Her work is a practice in reverence towards the flora and fauna kin we live alongside. Combining her background in social work with her love of flora/fauna illustration is one way Caitlin hopes her art and connection with clients and community makes the world a little more beautiful.
